The Mark of the Beast???
The Bible prophecy library is replete with theories about what the "mark of the Beast" really is. The Nazi SS tatooed numbers on their Jewish prisoner that they did not immediately murder. However, most theologians and preachers chose to overlook this element of Revelation 13:16-17. However, when Hal Lindsey released his book: The Late Great Planet Earth in 1970, he told his readers about the Mark, but never really speculated on what it could be. Later on, in subsequent books, he suggested it could be a computer chip.
Shortly after Mr. Lindsey's book came out, two Iowa-based filmmakers formed an Iowa Sub-S Corporation: Mark IV Pictures to produce a 1972 film titled A Thief in the Night. This film suggested the Mark of the Beast was a printed bar code that people put on their foreheads or hands. This idea was also forwarded by Dr. Mary Stewart Relfe though she suggested it could be a microchip implanted under the skin. Several subsequent films further promoted these ideas, forgetting that the Torah teaches the following:
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am YHWH. (Leviticus 19:28)
Aware of this scripture, many people would not accept any kind of marking on their flesh. Those in the Nazi concentration camps were not given any choice. They could either be tatooed or be exterminated. It is likely many Jews choose death rather than violating the Torah.
When the idea of placing microchips under the skin was again proposed in the 1990s, many objections came from the medical establishment. They feared that many of their patients would not accept a chip because of potential allergies or unacceptance of a foreign substance. These objections caused the IT world to "return to the drawing board" to come up with another alternative.
Their answer came when they reviewed the work of Dr. Rudolf Steiner, who once wrote:
I have told you that the spirits of darkness are going to inspire their human hosts, in whom they will be dwelling, to find a vaccine that will drive all inclination towards spirituality out of people's souls when they are still very young, and this will happen in a roundabout way through the living body. (GA 177 The Fall of the Spirits of Darkness, ¶13, The Fallen Spirits' Influence in the World Lecture given at the on October 27, 1917 at Dornach, Switzerland)
Even though Dr. Steiner was not a medical doctor and many of his ideas were considered by his critics to be "pseudoscientific," his mention of a "vaccine" in 1917 was not his first mention of it. However, this would be the only time he would consider publicly the implications of giving children vaccines to "drive all inclination towards spirituality out of people's souls." Since the work of Dr. Steiner is well-known, it is likely someone came upon his comment and attempted to do just that. Even worse, the people searching for a way to innoculate people from becoming Christians may have found some untoward enlightenment in Dr. Steiner's words. The following video of a Pentegon briefing suggests that someone has done just that:
While this video is interesting, it was still theoretical in 2005, it is likely they have made advancements since that time. However, to understand this better, we need to visit an old Fringe episode and visit the classified work of the Nazi "Angel of Death" Dr. Josef Mengele. Click Here to visit the next page.
