In Search of the Two Witnesses

After taking a beating at the Bible Code Convention, it was time to redouble our efforts to see if we do have a real, viable Bible Code, or if we have just created something to fulfill our wish for something to be true that maybe is not. Since we have been researching the Bible Codes, we have discovered that not every prophetic theory taught from pulpits, classrooms, and websites necessarily has any basis either in the plain text of the Scripture or the Bible Codes. There are times when we have realized that some theories taught as doctrine by some church organizations can even be deadly. We may also have to call upon specialists to help us build the code.

As we began to further research this Bible Code to see if there could be other clues, we started with the Jewish comments about the lack of an Old Testament tie to this code. Then, we thought about an attribute of Moses to see if it might give us a connection in this code. The word we came up with was "deliver" or "deliverance." When we ran these words, we got hits. One of them was a very good hit, but the other one was not such a good hit.

When we placed the phrase "olive tree" into the Bible Code (hoping to get a tie-in with Zechariah 4:3, 11 as per Revelation 11:4), we got a wrap around the basic term: "two witnesses." However, when we inserted the word "deliverance" into the code, it described what Moses did, but it did not hook up Moses with the main code. We solved one problem, but we now most realize that two witnesses may well not be the two famous prophets that Revs. Lindsey, LaHaye, Jenkins, Thieme, and the faculty of Dallas Theological Seminary and other theological centers wanted them to be.

At this point, a lot of Bible Code researchers will do everything they can to find a connection between Moses and the main code. Some will even try to force some plain text into this matrix to make this code work. When you force plain text into a code, the code no longer becomes a code. It is clear that we will have to dig into the scripture to find some more words to insert into this code.

Any student of the scripture can list dozens of sayings that Yahushua (Jesus) has said that often do not seem to make any sense. One of the more curious statements is this one:

Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. (Matthew 16:28 KJV)

The problem is though, that the other synoptic gospels also quote Yahushua as saying something similar:

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. (Mark 9:1 KJV)

But I tell you of a truth, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God. (Luke 9:27 KJV)

While the gospel of Matthew is the only one to specifically mention Yahushua coming back with His kingdom, all three of them mention the second coming of the Kingdom of God. The important part though, is that Yahushua clearly states that people who were alive in his day would still be alive when He returned with His Kingdom. Therefore, when Revelation 11:3 says that there will be Two Witnesses in the end times, they mean WITNESSES, people who saw Yahushua die on the cross and then saw Him raised from the dead. These men will have not only witnessed the death and resurrection of Yahushua Ha'Messiach, they will have documentary evidence to prove what they are saying. It is no wonder they will create such a stir when they finally show up in Jerusalem.

When we look for people who have seen Yahushua resurrected, we find from Paul's writings that this is a pretty large list:

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. (I Corinthians 15:4-8 KJV)

When we consider that the list of people who saw him in his resurrected state was over 500 people, but how many people really saw him die? The first people who come to mind are the twelve apostles (with Mattias on the list in place of the suicided Judas Iscariot), but history records the death of every apostle but John. Even if those stories are fabricated, they are eliminated because they fled when the Romans showed up to arrest Yahushua (Yahushua). Stories are told of the Apostle John being boiled in oil, but living to tell of it. We last hear of him on the Isle of Patmos, where he wrote his three epistles. Yet when we run his name, we do not get a clean hit. Another outcome we hoped for, but didn't get. But then, he was not at the crucifixion.

The next choice on the list of people who might appear as a witness would be the Virgin Mary, as the Roman Catholic Church has recorded over 20,000 individual apparitions. However, when she appears, she always appears alone and much of what these apparitions teach does not line up with the plain teachings of scripture. Also, there are several Marys in the scripture, so even if we did get a hit, we would not know which Mary the code would be talking about. Also, it is important to remember that Revelation 11:3 (in the Greek) clearly states that the witnesses are men.

When you look at the other main characters in scripture, the biggest name to come out is his cousin and benefactor: Lazarus. His name comes in at a perfect seven skips and touches the word "deliverance" and "two witnesses," and shares a letter in common with Elijah. Through the word "deliverance," he also shares a hit with Moses and John. It also suggests he might be the ringleader of this little end-time band of prophets. It is also important to understand that Lazarus is indeed, a "relative" of Yahushua on his mother's side. He is also the only person the scriptures specifically say Yahushua Loved (John 11:5, 36).

The other name that comes up in this code is Joseph of Arimathaea, the man who obtained the body and garments of Yahushua Ha'Messiach after the crucifixion as follows:

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Yahushua, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Yahushua: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Yahushua. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Yahushua by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Yahushua, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Yahushua therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand. (John 19:38-42)

While scripture does not mention Joseph again, he is not dead to history. From Josephus, we know that he is the twin brother of Mary, Yahushua's mother (not her uncle as the Roman Catholic Institution has argued so they can keep their "Virgin Mary" narrative alive). He disappears from the biblical text (as did the rest of Yahushua' family) because King Herod banished the entire family to Gaul (Southern France). Since that time, many authors have recorded "Wandering Jew" stories about men who witnessed the death and resurrection of Yahushua Christ and who continue to live long after most men should die. His name touches the word Elijah in the code, just as Lazarus does. This suggests that these men have the Spirit of Elijah working mightily in them.
